On being a sexy biker chick

I really like walking around town in my biker stuff, but maintaining the sexy stare is a bit difficult...I feel like giggling.

This isn't really about being a sexy biker chick, it's more about trying to be sexy in general...which I have discovered is more of an attitude and frame of mind than anything else.

The right shoes seem to help. For some reason I feel sexy in these shoes - I also like to dance in them, but my feet tend to hurt a lot the next day. By the way, it is really hard to take pictures of your own legs - try it!

OK - so I won't ever be the kind of woman who people stop to look at, but I like my shoes.

Strange Monday

John reminded me that I didn't share the best part of our Sunday. We were at the *$ (Starbucks) in Freemont and the barista said, "Wow, you're like hard-core bikers aren't you." We told her about my recent purchases and she said I looked "BAD ASS hard core." Very cool.

After working all day, John and Tiana went shopping up on Capitol Hill, but apparently didn't find anything interesting. I got home at about 6:30 and wandered around downtown and then up Capitol Hill. We ended up at this awesome place called Cyber Dogs. It's a vegitarian hot-dog joint that has AWESOME food. We had the Doggie Lama, the Red-Hot Bayou Dog and the California Dog. The best was the Doggie Lama - it had curried spinach and a creamy yogurt based sauce.

Later, while we were watching a very strange movie, Wilson called Tiana and told her about the drama unfolding at *$ today. Apparently Louis and his new manager finally had it out in a screaming match that resulted in Louis being fired. I am composing a letter to *$ about the things that have been going on in the store in the past few weeks and why I can't hang out there any more. It used to be my favorite place because of the great people there, but now they have all been replaced by coffee drones who make it feel...sterile. Gotta find a new hang out place.

I have not been writing much except a boring account of events in my day..must stop that.

Biker Sunday

Sunday was awesome...a rare occurance. No Sunday blahs!!

We picked up Tiana at about 9:15 and went to the international district to eat pho for breakfast. Yumm. Then we dropped Tiana off at her 2nd job @ Slave to the Needle and we went to the Goodwill store where I found many treasures including $3 boots and a $70 thick, cool leather motorcycle jacket. OK - we had to go back for the jacket because I didn't want to pay $70 for it, but after a trip to the cycle shop where nothing as cool, or as cheap was to be found...I had to return to Goodwill.

We then went home, got on the bike and cruised to Capital Hill, then to Freemont, where we visited the Freemont Sunday market and I bought a cool neaklace and a $5 belt. I had a complete outfit by the time the day was done. We stopped off for some Thai food and then headed towards home to take some photos before the sun set. I am taking a class on how to ride a motorcycle the Friday & Saturday and next Friday & Saturday. Then I won't have to ride on the back!

Trying to wake up

Still exhausted. I am sitting at my desk at school before the kids arrive and listening to my "happy music" playlist on my ipod - trying to wake up. Oops...kid #1 just arrived - 30 minutes early. Ah - he wants to finish yesterday's assignment---cool - someone who cares! Here's what the room looks like empty.

Long time no update

Yeah --- I have been lazy. So what's happened since I last updated:
  • Yearbook camp - I took 13 kids to yearbook camp at Central Washington University where we stayed in dorms with no air conditioning and it was 105*. They learned a lot and had fun though.

  • School started. I am teaching 3 periods of 8th grade LA, one of honors LA and one yearbook class. I am supposed to have planning 6th period which means being up on my feet with the kids from 8:00 - 2:00 before really having a break. I have been team teaching the computer construction/repair class with another teacher during 6th period though...so no break. I am exhausted.
